Goodbye 2k8. Miss U already.

December 31, 2008

I’ve done things this year you people wouldn’t believe. Attacked what it means to be me and why I should be what I will be. I’ve watched Justice glitter in the dark outdoors at Somerset House. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die 2K8.

You Remember The Nils? (Part II)

December 30, 2008

Superman returned. Batman began. We found Nemo. Spiderman spun 1, 2, 3 films and Star Wars continued too decline with Reloaded and Revolutions also loosing their shine. Indiana came out of retirement and the Simpsons starred in a movie. Bourne battled with Bond and The Lord of The Rings was brought to the big screen.

Good question.

Good question.

December 29, 2008

What are we going to see when we look back at the ‘noughties‘, ‘nils‘, 2K9, whatever you want to call this decade? Is anything new or unique to this decade. Will it be marked by the ending note electro rip on 80s clothing? Random geometric patterns. TopmanAmerican Apparel.

What does it mean?

This Year’s Danger

December 28, 2008

2K8 has been a pretty fucking fantastic year. I’ve gone through two IpODs a couple computers and four sets of headphones in my quest for music highs and this is my list of top 10 memorable music related things of 2K8.

After my waffer thin BOSE headphones broke I decided to go for headphones that weren’t so costly and at least looked good…failing that, ones that at least looked different.

They haven't broken...yet.

2K9; 2k8 Miss U

December 27, 2008

This has been a good great year. I don’t want 2K9 here and now. HaTe the future.

2K8: The year I woke up?
2K8: Did anyone ‘get’ me?
2K8: I got what I wanted and needed.
2K8: The year I found Danger.
2K8: 2K7 but better.

2K9: Do I want anyone to ‘get’ me?
2K9: The world keeps on turning.
2K9: Will I get what I want?
2K9: More work//Less work.
2K9: Do I know what I want?
2k9: Post-Human After All
2K9: Do I want what I need?
2K9: More of 2k8?
2K9: The year of new music?
2K9: I need more Carmex.

Virtual Morality

December 21, 2008

As technology advances and drags us into different spheres of reality we must re-examine the choices we make as virtual actors. Where does morality stand in these brave new worlds?

Games like Second Life and Grand Theft Auto allow players to experience virtual life with no lasting consequence. Anything goes. In Grand Theft Auto morally dubious things you can do include sex with prostitutes, killing civilians, killing cops, stealing cars and generally spreading fear and destruction. But why stop there – what is the difference between virtual murder and virtual rape? What makes one right and another so taboo? Of course if this was included in the game there would likely be mass public outrage but explaining exactly why virtual sex and murder are acceptable, and virtual rape isn’t, is not easy.
